UPDATE ON THE 2010 VIN CHANGES

Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 4:10PM | As the 2010 model year VIN information comes in from the manufacturers, we are relieved that the same methodology Price Digests has employed for the past 28 years is still valid. At this time we do not anticipate any structural changes to any files we provide our customers for VIN validation.
All the necessary WMI, model code designators and year code changes will be performed on our end and seamlessly transitioned to the model year 2010 vehicles.
There are a number of 2010 vehicles already in our database and are successfully decoding.
The new standards were proposed at a time of expansion in the auto industry. At the present time there is a contraction of brands and it appears manufacturers are going to continue using the same methodology until they run out of unique WMI’s. When they run out of WMI’s and change to a new methodology, we will incorporate whatever changes are necessary to continue our leading VIN validation process.
There is nothing you need to do at this time. We simply want to assure you that we are fully apprised of the situation and will communicate any necessary changes as soon as possible.
