ARB On The Cover Review: 2010 Mercedes GLK350
It looks like a cross between a Jeep Patriot and Subaru Forrester. Don't let bourgeois looks fool you; this is a genuine Mercedes Benz. It's really German and everything. It's the smaller-sized Mercedes SUV that you've always wanted, but were to afraid to ask. Powered by a 268-hp, 3.5 liter V6, the GLK350 is good for 0-60 times in the 6.6 second range. It's not a hard-core off-roader, but it's unlikely that anyone will use it for that anyway. The GLK350 is a high-button cute-ute that takes its styling cues from the formidable Mercedes G-Wagen more than it does from the more common GL-Series. It competes with models like the BMW X-3, with practicality similar to the Ford Escape, and the great big Mercedes logo in the stately, upright grill to impress the neighbors. Prices start at about $34,000 and steadily climb with options.
