If buying a personal luxury coupe is decided based solely on looks, the Audi A5 should find its way to the top of many peoples’ lists. From the low, wide stance to the sleek roofline, this car is a knockout from any angle. Does it have a lot of space for the kids? Eh, not so much. Is it cheap? Not particularly. But it isn’t really supposed to be. The A5 comes equipped with a 265-hp, 3.2-liter V6 and features direct-injection technology. While it may not stomp on your brains the way, say, a ’69 Hemi ’Cuda can at wide-open throttle, it still has plenty of refined get-up-and-go. Look for 0-60 mph in about 6 seconds. And, as on most Audis, all-wheel-drive is also available to make it handle like a slot car. Sharing the showroom with the Lamborghini-like R8 doesn’t do anything to hurt the image of mainstream Audis like this, but with its strong purposeful styling, quality interior and sporty, predictable road manners, the A5 holds its own just fine by itself, thank you!
